It was the ref who was being booed for missing the forward pass and refusing to review it.
I'm sure some of the booing fot the reason you state but I'm also sure some was directed at Marland.

Like DOK I applaud good play by all sides, obviously with far more enthusiasm when it's Quins. I don't see why people feel the need to boo anyone, players or officials.
Fantastic day yesterday! COYQ!

Wasn't there, so can't comment on any abuse. But he clearly didn't celebrate his try. Shame his respect wasn't reciprocated.

Do you think he respected quins fans last year when he refused to play in the a league or repeatedly turned up late to training?

The swearing at Yarde was unacceptable.

Now if that had been Ben Botica then fair enough!!!!

Rather a contradiction there.

Plenty of people applauded Marland's try. And, as others have said, it sounded like pantomime boo's.

The attitude shown by some towards MY was completely unaccaptable. Every time he got near the ball there was booing. Made me squirm. Even the announcer had to remind everyone to respect the players of both teams.

Nothing wrong with booing. This is a storm in a teacup. I'm sure he didnt care one bit and would have felt great satisfaction in his try.

Marland was booed when his name was called out in the Sale team before the kick off - sounded to me from the West stand that  booing was coming from all parts of the stadium

He posted on Twitter ' It was good to come back to the Stoop regardless of some of the booing . I enjoyed the memories I had there '

Absolutely no problem with booing if there is something to boo about during a game , but before kick off is just disrespectful and unnecessary , and it carried on whenever he got near the ball ... no justification for it IMO .

Once a quin .....

Spoke to my mate this morning who was in the South Stand and it was far from pantomime boos. A lot of it was pretty vicious, he said. Shame.

I sit in the North and the booing was certainly not all or even mainly from that end. I think saying that it was largely due to the forward pass is also wishful thinking, as it started before the replays showed it was probably forward and came from palces where they couldn't have judged the pass in real time.

Whether people think it is pantomime booing or unacceptable behaviour contrary to rugby's ethos / spirit / etc is a matter of opinion I suppose. I thought it was pretty poor, but I accept that others won't. Any more vocal abuse though is definitely unacceptable

Marlande always gave his all for quins so any abuse is completely unacceptable

I’m not sure he did though, and that’s why he plays for another club now.  Unless turning up late for training / missing training etc counts as giving your all.

Was doing his best not turning up for training and when he did always turning up late? His behaviour was certainly part of the problem last year ask our senior players.

Don't particularly want to seem to be MY bashing but I refer Your Honour to the comments made by ST Christopher of Robshaw after MY left. I rest my case.
