Seemed to be plenty of mitigating circumstances to downgrade from a red, a yellow would have been more suitable I think. I didn’t see what Genge was actually done for, can anyone tell me?

Genge was pulled for offside - we'd just been warned that any further penalty infringements (in red zone) would result in/risk a card.

According to the rules (BBC), 12 weeks is the entry point for playing with someone else's balls - 208 weeks the maximum.

Tuilagi was reckless and didn't think about the possible repercussions of his "tackle" with respect to tackled player's safety.

Same old people blaming the ref. I think one or two of them - one with history of ref abuse - don't really know the rules (*expecting reaction*).

Que Sera, Sera.

Clear red for manu. No arms, shoulder to head, reckless. North may have been going down but so was Manu. It was just a flying charge not a tackle

Be really irritating if we lose Joe now for that. Such an odd thing to do anyway

If you’re talking about me, I don’t abuse referees. I think many are inconsistent but I don’t abuse them.

Rewatching this morning, Manu’s HKG was worse than on first glance in the pub. Can see why it was red. Still bemused as to why the TMO didn’t intervene with Parkes though. Marler was daft. If he cops a ban for it he’ll only have himself to blame.

Was what Marler done really that bad.  If it had been the other way around I wouldnt be shouting for AWJ to cop a ban.  Looked more "jokey wind up" than "Im gonna hurt you".  Move on.  (and i would be saying that about anyone, not just because it is Marler)

While it is happening, marler is laughing, as he walks away AMJ looks more amused than distraught.

No not you, A222. The ref abuser knows who he is.

Perhaps I overreacted a bit, but I think refs get too much grief from fans - there’s so much going on on a pitch with lots of bodies crossing and blocking lines of sight, they are bound to miss some things. Angles are very hard to judge etc. Watching on telly with all the TV cameras and angles is a very different view than the ref has. If the Video ref interferes more often then some are likely to complain that he’s to obtrusive - they can’t win.

Fair play BQ. For what it’s worth, I do think they have a very tough job and cop it a fair bit. I do think Jonker is a poor TMO though. And A poor TMO does a ref no favours.

I hope not but I’ve noticed Andy Goode has posted on Twitter that the entry point for ‘grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals’ Is 12 weeks.

I think Joe's actions could be described better as tickling!

I think the law is designed to deal with people inflicting or attempting to inflict pain rather than having a little tickle. Was a daft thing to do but if Marler gets a ban then would be a complete overreaction.

It probably diffused the situation more than a hand to the face which he has done before and got him into trouble. I liked reaction in the commentary studio by Gareth Thomas.
