Depended on who was doing the kicking - while Landejo's kicking was random in it's direction (and poorly followed up as a result of the unknown trajectory), that of other kickers was chased up well and resulted in quite a few turnovers and enforced/unenforced errors by the Worcester chaps. Too much slow ball delivered by Landejo due to our slow/incomplete ruck clear out.

Whilst on the kicking theme, why did Smith/skipper chose to kick (well, miss) penalty what was apparently beyond his range in awful conditions and not kick to the corner for the penalty in the first half? We had some form of advantage at that point and another try then would probably have sealed the game. Pivotal moment, in my view.

Agree with all of this - our rucking was non-existent. Also agree on your choice of pivotal moment, although I can remember thinking throughout the game at regular 2 minute intervals whenever we threw away possession that "we're doing everything we can to lose this game". So in that sense there were so many pivotal moments. Worcester didn't win that game - we served it up for them and then when they left it to go cold we reheated it for them and force-fed the win to them.

That was strange... We seemed to hardly compete at any of the rucks or lineouts.

Agree about Chis Snr.  they were clearly targeting him and considering the awful conditions, he was pretty solid.

Think it was early in 2nd half BQ, but completely agree, the decision was bonkers. I suspect it was a reaction to the another bonkers decision towards the end of the 1st half, to go for the corner, rather than take the shot. Kick was downwind, left of posts (for right footed kicker) and about 35m out maybe? Score that and it was 17-3, in poor conditions a decent lead, and as it turned out would have been just enough.

Not sure what you are saying AQ, you say you agree that the decision to kick was bonkers but then go on to say that had he made the kick, we may well have got a win. In conditions as they were on Saturday IMO a team should should take every point on offer, Smith clearly thought that it was within range otherwise kick to the corner.

He's saying we made a decision to go for the corner earlier in the match in a position where the kick for goal was easier than the long range one.

That makes sense now that I have reread it, thanks. I agree that he should have gone for the penalty in the first half.
