Ward finished the game in the back row. Elia came on and tried his best to make Wards throwing seem good!!!

The lineout was a complete mess! It’s can’t just be the Hooker but if we are to improve across the pitch we need a first class Hooker next season.

Our kicking was terrible again. We kicked to the receivers so most of the time they didn't have to move. When there were acres of green grass undefended we just trucked it up the middle until we lost possession. If we got a penalty, the resultant kick for touch was so safe it bounced off the top of the West Stand when angling it even slightly more could have made an additional 20+ metres.

Once again we looked very vulnerable to a rolling maul.

As for the line outs, that's been covered. What I don't understand is why with enough application/practice a player cannot learn to throw straight. I appreciate the ball may be intercepted if the height is not right, but deviating left or right shouldn't happen.

Morris terrible, Mulchrone terrible, not sure what Glynn  offers, lineout diabolical, Benetton must wonder how they lost by that score -we constantly tried to let them back in the game through stupid penalties - but hey we won and they didn't get a point 😲

Astonished that here we are, in the Mickey Mouse Euro Competition (that the French don't care two hoots about), biting our nails over whether we can manage with a superhuman effort to finish ahead of the Italian team in our pool ... how have the mighty fallen.

One of the rare occasions I’m glad I stayed at home and watched the stream
Truly dull game

Did not really expect much else when i saw the weather forecast tbh.  Mistakes yes but a wins a win.  Lineout needs alot of work, no surprise if Codling has gone, not really improved there.  Few players back next week, Marler, Dombrandt, Clifford, Brown and Earle.  Also Care and Tapuai will be back

Codling hasn't gone, he was there today

Benetton only scored points that we gifted them, they didn't actually make anything themselves

Appalling weather.

Yep, the weather was appalling and it could be used as an excuse for some of the handling errors but not for the poor kicking from hand (why do we gift opponents so much possession) or the atrocious line outs. We were even worse than the weather IMHO

Can't disagree with the negative comments about the kicking. It was clearly a tactical decision to kick away possession to create territorial pressure, but the Benetton full back had a comfortable afternoon.

Conditions were really difficult, yet, we actually looked decent with the ball in hand (until we dropped it!) Lang was spreading it well and Saili is a terrific carrier. Marchant is just incredible. Player of the season contender already!

Bigger picture, Gussy has now had a chance to look at pretty much everyone, for a couple of games at least (bar Horwill). I am really hoping that he sets up a team to smash Leicester on Saturday. Easy for me to say, I know! More difficult for them to do!

Ultimately, a decent win that sets us up for a shot at qualification. Well done boys!

Atrocious conditions. But the weather was the same for both teams.

Their full back had a good game. We kicked poorly, but he read every single one well... He ran onto lots of them, and anticipated their trajectory.

Good teams win despite only getting a few chances. I'm not saying we're a good team just yet, but you've got to start somewhere.
