Shame we lost our heads a bit in that last 5 min when in their 22. That said still an amazing effort from all the players against a very strong Sarries team. Thought Joe Marler put a very controlled shift in this evening.

Oh what a shame! Beaten in the last quarter of the game  by a team with a bit more strength in depth and experience. From what I’ve seen of Quins so far this season that was a definite sign of progress. Good hunger, fight and attitude. Things will come together for them this season I’m sure. Proud of them today. I thought they all did really well.

Even the Sarries fans in front of us were frustrated that Pearce didn't ping them for offside despite ample opportunity, which was essentially how they held us out at the end.

Still, lots of positives to take from that, and try of the season is a lock.

Didnt see much but, he threw an awful pass to no one when we were on their line right at the death. Should and kept it in the forwards as we were pressing.  Just good to see him back out there though.  Hope he can stay fit

Forgot to add, was worried when Laskie went off (not just for him, he was clean out) but I thought Alofa and Marchant were excellent in the centres. Esp as both are normally 13s.  Saying that everyone played well. Also dont think it is a coincidence that Horwill is back and we are looking better.  Care had a good game. Our England boys done themselves no harm at all

Argh that was so frustrating! So close. The fight is back, a bit of pride is back and on another day we’d have won it. Immensely frustrated by Pearce, felt he made the easy decisions but bottled everything a bit more controversial for both sides.

Great game. Shame Dave Ward is rubbish at throwing and that Bothma absolutely bombed that try. I'm usually pretty sanguine about refs but he gave us basically nothing at the breakdown - there was one moment where Robshaw was on the ball for about 5 seconds and he still wouldn't give the penalty - and the Sarries offsides in the first half bordered on the comical. Guess that's what you get when you start the match after the ref's bedtime. He was stupidly pedantic about the lineout gap and the chat as well - who cares if someone's having a word with the opposition, honestly? - and not particularly even-handed with it either. Joe having a word = penalty, Sarries player dunking someone in the back of the head on the floor = absolutely fine apparently.

Couldn't fault the approach taken by either side and aside from a couple of poor performances on our side (Visser was awful!) I think that game did both teams justice.

A word for Nathan Earle, who was fantastic today. Great to see.

Good summary Jammy.

I really like Dave Ward as a tryer who wears his heart on his sleeve but his throwing is horrendous. Momentum shiftingly bad at times.

Thought we were great and beaten by a team who’ve got a bonus point win out of every other team they’ve played.

So close, so proud, so different from last two years.
