The bit that stood out for me was this bit:

Quote
“Paul learned a lot from Eddie and from working with England in terms of the sessions to raise physicality and intensity,” added Brown, who was speaking on behalf of Land Rover during the grassroots training session at Kingston RFC. “Harlequins now is very much similar to what we used to do in England camp.

“But he (Gustard) has obviously brought his own style to things in the role as well. He was just defence coach with England and had a boss – now he’s the boss and gets to do what he wants!

“There’s a bit of his stuff and a lot of stuff from England camp as well. We needed to raise the work rate and the physicality at Quins and I think that’s showing in our performances.”

Decent interview.

I'd love to know what Mike thinks of pundits and fans constantly saying someone else should be picked ahead of him. Goode, Foden, Watson, Daly, Abendanon, Woodward

I reckon by now he probably just laughs it off. Thing is if it was every now and then he was getting heat blown his way he’d think about it more, but seeing as it’s constant stick he gets I reckon he probably just laughs it off and focuses on his own game and thoughts rather than others.

Massive respect to him, all the stick he gets from fans and pundits yet here he is still. I think he’s still well worthy of the 15 shirt for England. Ages like a fine wine. Proud to have him at Quins 😁

Eddie Jones doesn't seem to agree with us at Quins. I think it is a mistake but maybe he will be back against AB's. Lets hope for Englands sake Daly does 'drop the ball' as it were.

I think its a good idea to try other things, should have been done earlier.  We know Brown is the man at FB, but who plays in the world cup if he gets injured???

Would not surprise me if Ashton got a go at FB

Seems like a mistake to me, November, cold, wet (probably), not a nice day to be pinned back by some accurate kicking. I know who I'd want back there protecting the goal line and isn't Splashton or Droppem Daly.

With what he has picked, I would go

Hepburn
Hartley
Sinckler
Itoje
Kruis
Wilson
Curry
Morgan
Young's
Farrell
Ashton
Tuilagi
Slade
May
Daly

Moon
George
Williams
Stooke (not sure others agree but I like him, bit off beef as well)
Shields
Care
Ford
Nowell

Tough on Mercer but without Morgan that pack is a bit light on muscle. That's why Sink starts rather than impact sub

Hasn’t Morgan been released?

Ahhhhh

Quick, put him back. In that case, Shields starts and Mercer to the bench.  I worry about our pack.

As it goes, dry all day and about 11c.

But still wonder how it’ll go.

Mixed feelings. Quins only now have 2 call ups. Maybe this could benefit us?

I can't see pay a lightweight weak pack getting bullied by the Boks, Vermulan is back. The only plus side is no Faff and no LeRoux
