I wonder if this is anything to do with the new defence coach John Mitchell. Perhaps him and Brown had a falling out. He seemed to be OK in the team up till now.

Seems like EJ had decided that he wanted Daly or Watson as Full back and was happy with MB on the wing . I think it has more to do with Ashton coming back ( as he can also cover FB ) that MB hasn't got a slot .

Ashton cover at fullback, sure the opposition would love hat.

He played 15 for Toulon, the lines he runs to be on the ball when it matters are superb and England's creativity vanished from the 6 nations onwards. It's going to be dry and mild on Saturday - I'm not sure it's such a bad call.

I very much doubt you'd throw him on if we're under pressure and getting hammered in the air, but other match scenarios are available.

I'm not sure I see Daly as an international standard full back. He can probably get away with it at club level but so far he hasn't looked overly secure or added a lot to our attacking threat. I much prefer him on the wing and then a more solid option (i.e. Browny) at 15. Slightly biased being a Quins fan but he hasn't let England down in all the games hes played so far.

I think EJ has said to MB you are my starting FB for world cup have the autumn off and relax with your family. I need to find your replacement in case you get injured.

I don't think Browny will like this but it makes sense to me.

and another thing, I hate the way the press automatically states someone has been dropped when there is no evidence for this when in reality someone has been rested or similar

He has been dropped. Care was dropped. I really don't know why people would rather believe Jones and the England rugby press office spin.

Well that's my theory shot to bits - no Mike Brown , no Chris Ashton and Tuilagi covering the back 3 ... hmmmm

I was fortunate enough to blag a dinner with Eddie Jones a couple of weeks ago....he was super open.  He currently see's Daly as one of a few world class players we have and Englands FB with MB a good back up option....

Have to say I prefer Daly at FB to wing. But better still would be centre, you know, his actual position.

If that's the case then why didn;t he put him there in the first place, instead of 18 months out from the RWC?

No Brien has been dropped he sees Daley as his 15 for now and for the World Cup I do feel sorry for Brown but those are the breaks
