How Quins handled the Brown thing is obviously well documented, but real shame to hear about how we supposedly proposed our final offer to him after Gustard left - About how "he should accept the offer because we over paid him the last few years"

I think we definitely did not overpay him from the services which he provided us from start to finish but especially in his last few years. He had one or two lapses in form but I would go as far to say that in his last few years for Quins he was for the majority of the time in form and as fresh as any of the younger players. A big shame all round for Brown and I hope that if we can’t sign him for a 1 year deal or short term injury cover in the case of bolstering our options with Green out still, then I hope he goes to a good team. I personally would love to see Ealing be granted promotion in the review process and then Brown join up with them. He’d be great for their aspirations of staying up and also for the other guys to learn from him as an experienced leader. Plus it would be a good move in terms of putting that towards his future aspirations moving into sports management etc.
All in all, whatever happens; good luck Browny!
Well, we brought Wallace and Gray (nearly wrote Grommet then!) back, so why not Brown?
Big Jim doesn't have too much of a frame does he? Unfortunate name, since he might have been a bit jim-shy?
Great interview, I really enjoyed that. Given the length of the interview, it's about the most forthcoming he's been on why he left Harlequins and also the Ben Teo incident. I know he has got this player management thing in his sights, but it would be nice if someone like Ealing got promoted and picked him up for a season.
Enjoyed that. I'm assuming the guy at Quins who told him to accept the offer is the bloke who one of our players later tweeted about being "a bell".
It's interesting when you hear what different players think of different coaches. You read Joe Marler's bio and he clearly didn't rate Lancaster very highly but was good mates with Gustard and clearly thinks Eddie Jones is a good bloke. Brown seems to have a better view of Lancaster but not be that impressed with Jones.
