A great player. Shame he is going but he was not ready for the coaching role.

No real surprise, a great player but yet to develop his coaching skills.

Still no mention on the club's social channels. Trying to bury bad news in such an obvious way is disgraceful for such a loyal servant to the club, he deserved better.

Oh come on in what way is it either bad news or burying it?

It was announced in statement on the club’s official website - I mean if that’s buried then they’d be rubbish at disposing of corpses for the mob. (Pigs, that’s my method)

A great number of us rightly blamed Easter for the terrible defence and suspected he was too close to the dressing room to be effective and we were mad to keep giving players with barely any coaching experience jobs trying to coach their former team mates.

Great player, appointed far too early in a job in which he provably failed - may not have been his fault - but we’re a rugby club not a retirement home for former stars.

I'm not surprised that Minty has gone. I'm saddened that I haven't had the opportunity to thank him in the way that I was able to thank JK on the last day of the season.

"Harlequins would like to thank Nick for his contribution, innovation and hard work in this role and wish him well in his promising coaching career"

and I would like to do the same. I hope he goes on to be a great rugby coach.

Great servant to the club as a player and will be remembered by me for this alone.
Good luck/best wishes for the future Nick.

Amazing player, gave it everything and reaped the rewards. Never stopped enjoying watching him play.

We can't afford to carry a newbie defence coach, though, sad as it seems.

Where does this leave the other Nick, I wonder?

Do we think our backs played any better in attack?

Wasn't he the oldest player to score a try in a Six Nations game? Against Scotland. Am I dreaming it?

Fantastic player. Wish him well. Glad someone else will be coaching defence next season.

Given that NEv has appeared in some of the articles the club has posted in the last few weeks with a new title of Skills & Off The Ball coach, I'd say he's not going anywhere for the moment.

Our backs did seem to do a bit better this year, NEv has shown more in less time than Easter, and there's the NZ link to consider.
