You may recall one of my first posts on here being about me having a disability which renders me much like a Dalek - good on the flat but crap with stairs.
Last year I attended the Game Changer at London Stadium having booked the tickets via London Stadium after having given proof of my eligibility for a personal assistant. With this in mind I applied to Tottenham for eligibility as a disabled customer that requires a personal assistant. I provided all the relevant evidence and satisfied their criteria just as I did at London Stadium last year. I then went to the Saracens website where they had an option to buy a disabled ticket (full price) with a FREE ticket for a personal assistant to accompany me.
I received a call today from someone at Saracens regarding the 2 tickets I ordered for the March game at Stade Toilette. It was a heated exchange which basically went along the lines of them telling me that I didn’t satisfy Saracens’ criteria for such seating despite me doing everything I could based on my experience of last year...
It was at this point that the frustrated Sarries executive explained that last year the allocation of these ’free’ tickets had gone completely unmonitored and was massively exploited costing the club... I dunno... a wing-forward or should I say a 2 bedroom semi in Wantage maybe! Moreover, having had their fingers burnt last year on the topic, they have now got pages of people this year who have once again applied for the personal assistant complimentary ticket without the club vetting their eligibility.
Money to burn or just scrabbling to recoup the £5m lost... So now, genuine disabled rugby supporters are being targeted because the club cannot organise a pyramid scheme in a beauty parlour.
