Most Important Games of The Season
« on: Friday 20-Dec-2019, 18:30* »
I know it's a bit hyperbolic - but i really feel the next two leg games are the most important of the season. Wins against Leicester and Wasps would result in putting enough daylight between relegation and mid table. Losses and we will be scrabbling for survival for the rest of the season.

So many games I’ve read the team sheet and traveled with high hopes of an away win
Team looks good on paper, Wasps are having a bad run
If we get the win and can kick on against Tigers your right it really will help the season

So travelling to Coventry in hope......again

I agree that these games are huge from a points perspective. Also for the tone of the season.

Are we genuine challengers? If so, we pick apart a struggling Wasps and fragile Leicester with ruthlessness.

Last season I kept banging on about the mentality of the players. It was positive and exciting in our brilliant run, then we seemed a bit unsure and ill-disciplined from the Gloucester home game onwards. It was heartbreaking to see Lang's terrific kick fall a few meatures short in the game against Wasps, but we lost it months before.

So where are we now? How different would things be had we beaten Ulster away?
As it is, I back Gussy to have pushed the team hard this week. He wants the team to be amazing and he wants to build something at the club.

So, yes, these next two games are huge!!!!

(We will smash Sale away too!!!!)

"Smashing" other teams sounds great, but as long as we play with the same intensity (apart from the last few minutes) as the Ulster away game, take wins and play with passion and determination, I'll be happy.

I fully expect Wasps and Tigers to target these games (especially the former) as chances to get their sides into the groove, so they won't be easy.

But one game at a time - defend well and take chances against Wasps and win: let's start there...
