I think the main difference is that Wasps named a team when they had to but Sale didn't. If they had done so they would have avoided all the criticism.

Two points:

1. The account that Sale give is that they submitted a team to PRL but neither the Sale nor the Worcester team was published whilst the powers that be worked out what to do.

2. Sale definitely did submit a team for the Wednesday fixture as this was made public. It was a team shorn of many first XV players and with a very weak bench. Did that XXIII make a miraculous recovery?

The common belief among some fans of other clubs seems to be that we were up to something dodgy. I have not however been given a reason why the immediate assumption is negative.

This assumption was then fuelled by an as yet unsubstantiated rumour of a party after the Cup Final.

I’m not having a dig Yareet, it was only a comment about the situation at Sale. If all precautions are taken it’s just unfortunate.

I was talking about the original fixture and I stick by my original point.

But it's irrelevant now as we have the rightful champions based on the season as a whole.

I assume you mean that Sale must be guilty because there was no team sheet published.

No I meant what I said which was "If they had done so they would have avoided all the criticism."

I did not say anywhere that they must be guilty so please stop attributing things to me that I did not say.

It really doesn't help your argument.

I think the main difference between the two cases was that the PRL handled one worse than the other and allowed rumours and innuendo to leak out, rather than coming out with a clear statement early on.

Apologies, Max. I freely admit to being prickly about the topic.

I am generally with Yareet on this topic. I don't think Sale actually did anything wrong.
We don't know all the facts. But, there seemed to be lots of people marking them as guilty without any actual evidence.
