New name for the A League
« on: Monday 09-Jul-2018, 12:07* »
The Premiership Shield (aka the A-League as was) has been announced:

https://www.quins.co.uk/news/inaugural-gallagher-premiership-shield-fixtures-confirmed/

An interesting nugget in the first paragraph is this:

Quote
Premiership Rugby have also secured a deal with FreeSports to deliver exclusively Live Premiership Rugby Shield matches (one match per week) together with selected highlights from other matches.

Freesports should be available to most folks on DTV. I believe it's somewhere in the 90s in terms of channel numbers on Freeview.

Good to see they will be streaming one game a week. Some of the clubs do so themselves on their facebook pages too, so I hope this won't stop.

I notice the fixtures all say "week commencing" - I hope they are still on Monday nights

It's more than just streaming. FreeSports is actually broadcast on Freeview (Channel 95) and also I believe Freesat as well without subscription

FreeSports will also have Pro14 matches this year, nice that they have some English rugby too.

Go to channel 95. That's where it should appear. You might need to do a retune.

Which version of BT box do you have? Do you receive the Freeview HD channels (101 for BBC1 HD etc)?

Also, does the TV itself receive Freeview without the BT box? If so, check there as well.

Ok so I have no aerial or dish, just the internet connection through the BT box which is 4 years old. I have tried to "retune" the bt box and scan for channels but it hasn't worked yet.

Might have to re-hire my Techy Butler.
