New path opened today but it seems it will close early in winter months so not useful for Quins fans before and after evening matches.

I walked along the path this evening, having by chance found it open. Very pleasant but some serious fencing in some places. It closes at 8 currently so be careful you don't get locked in as I almost did. It made a nice change to the walk through the streets.

I'd guess the evening closure is to avoid inebriated folks walking along & falling into the river.

QP, as I understand it, the path runs from just to the right of M Bar & Grill in the new development opposite the station, along the river, past the gun club, then up to Craneford Way next to the playground.

The official name of the land the path is on is Twickenham Junction Rough, but a local Twitter poll decided on the name Craney McLaney.

It will be open until 19.30 on Sat, and there will be stewards directing people down the path on matchdays.

Or, it's because there's no lighting (so nobody can see the inebriated folks in the river to save them) ;-)

Used it on the way to the game on Friday, much more pleasant than going the residential route. Plenty of stewards directing 'traffic'. Went to use it on the way back and closed. Stewards gave the lighting explanation
