Harlequins have today confirmed Lovejoy Chawatama will depart the Club at the end of the 2023/24 season to join Bristol Bears.
The tighthead prop, who joined Quins from London Irish as injury cover for the 2023/24 season, has made seven appearances, making his Club debut against Hartpury University in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Prior to his move to The Stoop, Chawatama registered 93 appearances for London Irish and enjoyed stints with Clifton RFC, London Scottish and London Welsh. He also represented England Students in 2015.
Director of Rugby Billy Millard commented: “Lovejoy has been a good addition to our squad. He is a big character and has worked hard for his opportunities this season. We wish Lovejoy and his family the best with their move to Bristol and look forward to his contribution for the remainder of the season.”
Speaking ahead of his move to Bristol Bears, Chawatama added: “I’ve loved my time at Quins and will always be grateful for the opportunity they provided me this season. It’s a special Club with fantastic people and I’ve enjoyed pulling on the Quarters and playing in front of The Stoop. I would like to thank everyone for their support and I look forward to finishing the season on a high.”
