Nobody knows of course, but I'm allowed to speculate...

Would imagine the season is called off at some point, with Sarries going down and Newcastle coming up. No Champions crowned and top 6 play in Champions Cup next season. Hopefully no clubs will go to the wall. Fascinating to see who lines up for England in the first Autumn international AND how much lower ticket prices will be for those England games (bound to be a seismic economic reset). Quins first XV full of young guns next season to lower costs. Quins will have to adjust all Season ticket prices also.

Im not sure it will go like that (Re the young guns).  If everyone is in the same boat, the more expensive players may leave a team, but where would they go (no one can afford them).  More likely there is some fiddling done with contracts. As for cheaper England tickets, I would be amazed!!!

I think that the interesting area will be the championship and national 1 next year. The championship will have reduced funding and the clubs will be really struggling. I guess that Richmond will be promoted. I think the amateur clubs in these divisions will be ok. But the pro clubs will struggle. It might even up the competition a bit. Other than the games against sarries that is.

Of course you don't have to pay the price that is asked the tickets - any tickets - if you don't want to.....?

On the question of viability of clubs - any clubs - surely they should be economically viable without the aid of a sugar daddy?

Of course, but thats not really what was being said.  The OP was about how much lower ticket prices would be (potentially).  I dont think they will be any lower.

And yep, in an ideal world, would be great if clubs could be.

The RFU and clubs are suffering financial losses caused by the current situation, so they won't be lowering any ticket prices.

Well fewer people will be able to afford them so market forces and all that...?

Maybe, but while there are people that are obviously, and unfortunately struggling, there will be others that it has not affected and others who may even be doing well out of it.  Depends your field of work.

5 million self employed people will not be in the market for horrendously overpriced rugby tickets, methinks..

Totally agree, but, my point is there will still be plenty of people that will be able to afford the ridiculous price of an England rugby ticket. I could be wrong, I just dont see ticket prices coming down

I think it all depends how long this ridiculous state of affairs carries on for.
If we are back to work in a few weeks, maybe a month it'll be manageable.
If it's more like 3/6 months, some even talking about a year then that'll be a disaster and there will be lots of people out of work despite the government's promises.
In the latter scenario I don't see demand for tickets for the premiership, let alone internationals being as high as it was before.
Although the quickest way to make money these days seems to be to work for the government so who knows?

As I said in a previous post this whole situation just proves how the current model for professional rugby, and come to think about it basically all sport, is not sustainable with most clubs professional and amateur, or so it appears, living hand to mouth.

Which means that without a sugar daddy a number of clubs will unfortunately, imho, goto the wall which isn't great for players, employees and supporters .

As people have said previously there needed to be a reset in salaries and costs anyway. This bizarre situation just appears to be making it happen much faster than we all thought it would.

Stay safe and please, please take heed and keep a social distance as requested otherwise this is going to just go on and on!

Always knee jerk recourse to the Courts if you don't get your own way. Don't like it much.

It will cast a few bob if they lose! The beak may say that in the circs, a reasonable conclusion to draw. You lose, pay up.
