Sorry not to add to the general gloom, but I was at The Ricoh today and apart from the fact that the food there is **** I really enjoyed the match. Yes we lost. The game was exciting to watch and nowhere near as infuriating as some I’ve seen. We had the entire Quins party next to us as well - a team players, women’s team, retirees, everyone. The last gasp penalty was one of those moments that would have been joyous if had worked. Roll on next season.

Apart from beating glaws away, almost coming back against Exeter (not a good performance granted), losing to saints last minute (another shocker) and taking 2 bonus points off sarries, the best side in Europe?

We've hardly been uncompetitive.

Completely agree we've not been uncompetitive at all or we wouldn't be 5th. But let's not pretend it was anything other than losing bonus points that got us there!

Gutted to lose today, especially in the manner in which it happened but in all honesty we didn't deserve to beat Wasps and wouldn't have a hope in hell of lifting the trophy. With hindsight (easy to say now, I know) I think I'd prefer to be in the top 4 next season, if we can add to the squad in the right places and Gustard can get the squad looking how he wants it.

Just hope the cheaters that are Saracens don't win, but afterall money talks.

Really happy to have Champs Cup rugby next year.

Just watching the game now. Early on Danny Takes a box kick which is taken by their 10 outside of their 22. He then passes back into Le Roux I think, who is inside their 22, who kicks direct to touch, is that allowed. Sorry I'm not clear on this rule.

Yes, I remember thinking that hadn't been picked up. Also, didn't someone slap Marcus? That also wasn't picked up.

This. Gloucester game was a thumping but the others we could have won. Let sale win without having to do much. Threw it away v saints which was the most significant loss. Had a chance to beat both ex and sarries away. Only played for 40 mins v wasps. Very poor v tigers so no bonus

The lineout should normally have been taken back to the kicker's position, and I think the ref had that covered, but Quins mistakenly decided to take a quick one instead. So it was play on.

Ah yes, that makes sense.

On another point, I was surprised we opted for the kick at posts at the end. I thought a kick for the corner, followed by another 14man driving maul would be better.

Not much else to say about the season really. Should have walked into the top 4.

Nah, I think it was on the edge of his range but the kick was correct. It was a long way out to put the kick on the 5m, and our lineout has been rubbish more than it's been decent this season.

I have to agree I think taking the shot at goal was right with Lang on the pitch. Had Smith been on we would have gone for the corner and still had a lot of work to do.

The middle 40 lost us the game.

Still happy with 5th and Champions Cup rugby to look forward next season.  I’m inpatient to know where my weekend away will be.

We lost the season due to our lineout... killed so many of our games!

The lineout could be given as a reason, given individual situations which could have got us over the line, but really I think it was the mentality over the last 3rd of the season. How often did we give up a seemingly unassailable lead and then start playing and get within a score?

I can't help but think that phoning up 12 of the squad and letting them know their contracts weren't being renew'd after Christmas had something to do with it. Not the be and end all but certainly can't have helped

Happens to most squads every year. Caveat being that it hasn't really ever happened at quins in this era.

Agreed and had'nt thought of that either. My point was more the manner of how it was done ie phone call
