What really got me was for Underhill's try to be referred to the TMO when the ref was in line with Lawes and saw all that happened. Why couldn't he make a decision without involving the TMO?

Yes I don't care how much the press love  Daly and George they both had bad games today. George's throwing was not good enough and he's throwing to his club mates!!  Daly was poor again in defence and did sweet fa in attack...

I'm no expert but it looked to me like the ball was being thrown to the intended man (Itoje) and the Kiwi kept stealing it as we kept repeating the same damn lineout. Who was calling it at that time? Poor calling I thought.

No idea about the calling but Retallick should get some credit. Maybe they were double-bluffing. Did seem strange though to repeatedly throw to Itoje.

I'm drunk now. 🙂

Are you saying the TMO was wrong?

I think it was possibly a 50/50 call. I don't think that there was enough evidence to override the on field call . The tmo is not supposed to butt in like this, so should get a good ticking off.

I thought (and could be wrong).....Ref gives the try, unless the TMO has clear and obvious reason the try cannot be disallowed.  That was not clear and obvious.

We lost the short ones as well. There was 2/3 really not straight throws from NZ that went unpunished as well as a plethora of forward passes

Itoje was having to reach in front of his face to catch them, they were being underthrown.

All 5? Even that doesn't exactly absolve the caller of blame.

For the two most important of them, yes, and I'd argue a 3rd too. Additionally some of the ones we won we were lucky they weren't contested as the throw was short.

So JG and the caller to blame?

No, just JG. The caller is not responsible for the thrower being shite regardless of where he's throwing it to.

We didn't just go to Itoje, it's just that Itoje is the banker ball. When we went longer the throws were worse, we just got lucky.

Fair enough, I'm obviously remembering incorrectly. They seemed to go to Itoje in the middle time after time.

Was in gods in west upper on halfway and it was clear NZ closed the line, just a bit to start with but as they were allowed to get away with it they increased every it every throw. They were mobbing us by the end. It was ridiculous.

They were also increasingly offside but so were we. It was weakly reffed  in the second half, no question. But Lawes charge down just felt offside as soon as it occurred to me and it was just offside enough on the replay to to be called. Boot on the other foot and Twickenham would be screaming PEN!

They are so sharp with the ball in hand though. That multi phase spell end first half when our defence held so well until they broke us out wide was electric.

If you are in the Dog and Duck 3rd xv and  40 minutes before the  match you still have not met the other forwards, you might limit yourself to a couple of calls.

if you are the second best thrower in England, who has spent the previous two weeks working with the pack, I would expect you to have a few more - and be able to implement them.

They did seem to get away with tackler not rolling away a few times in the closing minutes of the game which was very frustrating.
