Quins worked so hard to get season tickets like the £99 in north stand, now we got here they are blaming them.
They "worked so hard" as in sacrificed revenue in favour of building customer (supporter) satisfaction. But, at the same time, contributing to further losses. That's a business judgement call that they made at that time - but it is unsustainable. What do you propose? That they just freeze it at £99 forever, regardless of inflation/the economy/other worlds events? That's a pretty sure-fire way to send a business down the pan.
Whichever way you cut it, raising ST + matchday ticket prices and still selling out is only going to help the balance sheet - you don't have to be an economics graduate to see the logic there. Obviously the risk there is the "still selling out" - but Laurie and his team have some pretty abundant evidence in front of them in the fact that every home Prem/European game has been a sell out this season. There's your business justification right there.
They can make revenue from many others angles too...
Which is exactly what Laurie said they're going to do. £3m of losses requires a wide-ranging strategy to sort. Raising ticket prices is one of many parts of that strategy.
I reckon have a watch of the stream if you have a chance - it was pretty enlightening.
