Rumour from the Rugby Pod that a ‘big’ Midlands club are trying to sign him.

Wasps, Northampton or Leicester? I'd have thought that he'd be no.2 anywhere he goes, might as well stay with us and be no.2 to Joe, guaranteed game time when he's away with England and fairly regular time off the bench. Not sure why he'd move unless it was for much more money.

You could argue Auterac was signed to be Marler’s understudy. Still I hope Boyce stays as I believe he’ll be a better player.

I saw Auterac more as a replacement for Lambert, who must be close to winding down his career by now.

Yeah - I’d agree that he’s been signed as Lambert’s replacement, but I’d argue Lambert is currently second choice, not Boyce.

I think the way Lambert has struggled this season, boyce must be ahead of him when fit

I thought the (unconfirmed) story was that Lambert was set to leave at the end of last season but stayed on a reduced salary to act as cover.

Why not start Lambert then bring Boyce/Auterac on after 60? Get less pens against and more players on the pitch.
