That’s to June 2018 so not new? Seems like a good excuse for Nigel Wray and CVC to let off steam about building a global brand before this afternoon’s meeting which according to the Mail is going to discuss Sarries new wheeze to break the salary cap. Apparently finally Premiership rugby are talking to retired Sarries players as well as current. It says that other Clubs have had enough ... so watch this space

The wording is actually slightly misleading:

Quote
Wasps, whose £32.8m turnover was more than £10m greater than the next highest (Harlequins), lost £9.7m while promoted Bristol lost £7.2m.

Don't think that article actually details how much we lost. Still not a great picture overall but this is what CVC have been brought in to fix. Let's give it a few years to see if that happens. I'm optimistic about our future-proofing arrangements. Maybe naively so but I choose blind optimism in otherwise dark times! Let Quins be one happy thing in my life, thanks!

AH! Yes, my mistake. On rereading that, I agree it's about Wasps, not Harlequins - phew!

As for how recent it is, I think businesses get a while to file their company returns.

"The losses of every club were greater than the year before" - didn't we lose around £4m last time?

Someone will have to explain Saracens turning £48m loans into equity...

I am sure those cleverer than me can probably interpret better but from Oct 2018 we had a 3rd principal owner added in Bermuda alongside Saville and Jillings so could be that they were clearing out between different companies before that happened? We know that to get a profitable operating profit we need a home quarter final in the European Cup otherwise our model does not work.

What about a home Prem semi final (Or Challenge cup)?  Is it to do with tv money additional to the gate receipts???
