The guy has been with Tigers since the age of 16 - ie. 11 years, and his family has a strong connection to the club going back even further. Yes it is odd that you're couching this as being simply about money and the world cup. You also likened his situation to a hypothetical with you and your employer; it's as if you completely fail to see how being cheered and revered for years by rugby fans will help forge a strong allegiance between a player and a club. Yep, that's odd.

You also appear to have not considered that if he was offered the rumoured contract with Racing it was very likely it would start after the world cup. For some reason you're bending over backwards trying to make out this was a financial decision only. What do you know that the rest of us don't?

Leiscester has been the only professional club he has played at, he isn’t getting any younger of course and is at the peak age I would say in a modern day professional rugby players age and form. Away from rugby, Leicester has been his home for many many years. A lot of his rugby playing family have been involved with Leicester. Leicester have stuck by him through multiple lengthy injury periods and in my honest opinion I would summerise that as well as the money side of things having been offered a competitive deal, also wants to give back to Leicester as a rugby club and home of his. That’s why I take the view that a percentage of his decision was based on loyalty, as well as money and playing for England. It’s just my view, I’m not saying it’s right, I don’t know the ins and outs of Tuilagi’s mind or decision making process.
