O/T Twickenham Station
« on: Monday 16-Sep-2019, 10:28* »
This is a question to those who live locally.

What's the current status of the rebuild of TW station? Have they opened up the proper ticket office yet? Are the platforms fully accessible? I'm just interested as I haven't been through it since the Prem Final, so it'd be nice to know how things stand, and I'm struggling to find meaningful updates from official sources...

You will find out on Friday when you go to the first match of the season!

Actually I won't. I *will* be at the game, but as with any Friday night game I will have to drive down from work, as there's no way I can get down & back on the train for a Friday game.

That info is two years old & just describes what's been in place since then with the temporary ticket office & entrance by Platform 3. I was hoping for something about the station as it is at the moment...

Fred , I last used Twickenham station about 3 weeks ago , and there weren't many obvious changes to me from the end of last season .Work is ongoing and no doubt progress is being made , but access was still down the side at that time .

Was there today. As it’s stands, the temporary station is still being used so entry is via platform 3.

However I saw signs which were new to me saying that the station would open in “early Autumn 2019”. I’m not sure we can go much further than September before one could argue that we are beyond “early Autumn”.

As has been said, there appears from the outside to be very little progress in the last 3-4 months. A-art meets look half built especially when coming in in the train from Richmond. From what I have seen, I don’t think we will see it sorted until the 6 nations.

Twickers local here.

As mentioned above, new station not open yet. The signs saying opening Early Autumn are brand new though, so I'd say 4-6 weeks. I'd guess that the aim would be to have new the lifts open at that time but no guarantee of course
