Anyone know the dates for the Semis/Playoffs? My poor efforts at finding out for myself have been unsuccessful.

Thanking you in advance.

Weekend of the 25th May, I am pretty sure.

Last game of the season is the 18th and the Final is the 1st of June.

hoping the recent results give our defensive play the kick up the rear it needs! but still feeling positive we'll hold on to 4th

Are we going to play the 1st team on Saturday? Or are We going to rest some again? Marchant looked as though he might be out for a couple of weeks and Symons finger was not good.

I sincerely hope we are going all out to win silverware - i can't see us making it out of the Prem play-offs.

agreed! top 4 finish and a bit of silverware would be lovely, exceeds my expectations for this year after the finish last year, thought we'd be another year or 2 away from where we are.

I hope we do every thing we can to win on Saturday - no need to rest anyone that is fit.
I think it is highly likely we will get top 6 and Champions Cup Rugby next term .. anything else in the League this time will be a bonus for me ( Top 6 already exceeds my expectations from September )

Lets go for the Cup .

Assuming we get one more win from somewhere the Saints, Sale or Bath would most likely need 4 wins from the final 5 games - given how tight the league has been I can’t see that happening and so one more win should see us into the top 4.

Our (Sale’s) remaining games are:

Quins (H)
Wuss (A)
Bath (H)
Bristol (A)
Glaws (H)

Two of the relegation contenders away and teams around us at home. We drew with Bath at the Rec in a game we should’ve won and stuffed Glaws at Kingsholm so even that game is a possible win.

4/5 or even 5/5 wouldn’t be a complete surprise.

Unless we play like we did in the second half against Falcons (or against Saints) and we could lose them all.

Ok, once again I'm obviously an idiot - hadn't factored in who plays who around us.

I'm back to thinking we will just hold onto 4th but also that our defence has sadly re-discovered some big issues that need sorting urgently.

Pleasing self awareness.

On our recent performances I'll be suprised if we cling on to top 4.

I'm not sure I even want to be in the Heineken Cup next year tbh. Might be a tad early for Project Gustard.

I suspect you might be disappointed then!

I think we should be fine for 4th and an away semi to Exeter.

Our last 5 matches have yield 16 points, average 3.2 per match (yes with a bad loss to Gloucester)

We need 12 points (imho) to hold 4th in the league which would be an average of 2.4 points per match.

12 points come from the basis that either Sale or Northampton wont win 5 games in a row and even with 4 wins would only amass a total of circa 18 points (including 2 BP from the four wins or two loses) giving them 59 points, Quins already on 49 points with 12 points would take us to 61 so a couple of points cushions encase of Sales/Northampton picking up a couple of extra BP's.

I personally think 12 points from the next 5 games is what we need and we have averaged 2.9 points a game so far this season so a 2.4 average for the last 5 will be fine.

Thoughts or corrections welcome!?
