It is so hard to see where the season is going to go.
Personally I think we have to accept that the margins between top and bottom are incredibly fine, this is what a salary cap does, brings all the teams closer in terms of competition.
Quins could play well, lose a number of narrow matches and be relegated, they could play poorly and win narrow matches and finish sixth.
With regards to “fixing”things -this will take time, Gussy has had very little say in the make up of the squad, apart from the recent spate of signings, so in terms of how he wants to play he may not have the type of personnel he wants. He also has a mindset issue to shift, previous problems may have been down to attitude and changing that doesn’t just happen when a new broom sweeps in.
In fact resistance to change may be greater, over time he will move the people into a better mind set or move them on.... all this takes time.
I’d like to see to see the team improve over the season and not get relegated....
Sale is an important match in that they have traditionally struggled away from home and are a team that we could be competing with to stay away from the bottom places. But if we lose it will not be the end of the world.
