Do they really think there's enough players fit & in condition in all the clubs ready to play 2 games a week after what will be weeks of what will be something akin to the fitness training that went on in the amateur era?

As long as everyone's done the same amount of training it shouldn't matter. Maybe we need a Training Cap.

Except that less training and physio treatment will inevitably = more injuries. Especially if they're playing 2 games per week. It's nonsense and the fact that these ideas are being given the light of day shows how desperate they are for some kind of revenue.

Yeah, I wasn't being entirely serious.

Well Rob thinks 2/3 weeks training and then just play with no training which many players would enjoy as they hate training! Let’s hope one of the things they don’t train for is the wretched caterpillar and ban box kicking and arguing with the ref.

Sorry to say again, but it’s wishful thinking. I know why, but it’s stupid. We have the potential to make this end positively. Players will have had a break and a chance to recover physically they would never normally have had (unless All Black stars - who do routinely take career breaks to prolong their careers). If we manage it, allow them to come back to full fitness in time, and pick up in a managed way then we minimise the harm to them and, longer term, the clubs. Rush it, prioritise short term gain over long term, and we make things worse.

Two points.
1. Social distancing should be a permanent fixture for any caterpillar ruck
2. No training means Quins can’t have their ‘good week of training’ before a loss, so what do we do, win?
