Question Time
« on: Monday 07-Oct-2019, 17:04* »
Afternoon all,

Some of you may already be aware, and may have seen a post or two on the forum, but we produce a podcast called the Ven Fitness podcast. The Ven Fitness podcast is centred around Harlequins, and we basically spend an hour talking to Quins boys about rugby (not too much), their personal journeys, their take on away days, and their hobbies outside of rugby. Oh, there's also a Mastermind style quiz which is pretty good fun.

We've got 7 (8 as of tomorrow) episodes out, and we think we're starting to get the hang of the sound quality and structure (others may disagree, but allow it a few episodes!).

The point of this post is to give you all the chance to ask our next guest, Alex Dombrandt, any questions you want. As Alex was plucked from the relative obscurity of Cardiff Met University, you may not know as much about his journey to rugby as you may like. Or you may just be interested in the Alex Dombrandt off the rugby pitch?

Anyway, please let me know if you've got any questions, and we'll ask them when we record the next episode. If we can't get round to getting them in the final pod, I'll do my best to type some answers up on here. Link below if you fancy a listen.

Cheers

Thank you Ross. It's a really good listen and is doing a great job of building a strong relationship between the players and the supporters. Glad to hear the sound is better.

Well done you guys!

As for the legend that is Alex, could you ask him, quite simply, what has been his favourite games in a Quins shirt so far and why?

Thanks, Comet. That's exactly what we want to do, so I'm glad it's coming across that way.

We'll definitely get that one asked, I certainly know what my answer to it would be!

Hi Ross can you ask Alex if it is true that he has been a life long Quins fan? Also what are his personal ambitions for this season? Cheers

I can confirm that the first part is 100% true! Will get the second part down to ask him.

Can you ask him how Quins approached him to sign, who else approached him than and has anyone else approached him since he came to prominence last season? I would imagine that he and the rest of the squad get tapped up occasionally, and it would be good to hear about how that happens and whether they discuss it.

I'll see what we can get away with on the second part of that question... don't want to give away too many trade secrets!

Ask what the rest of his Cardiff team mates said when he got picked for Quins.

Please ask Alex what he thinks of Luke Northmore as a prospect and when he may feature for Quins?

Thanks for all these questions, we've had a lot via our Instagram page too, so as promised I'll try and type some answers up on here if we can't get to them.

If you're interested, we released an episode with Renaldo Bothma today, with questions such as 'What's your favourite dinosaur'? Questions along those lines are also welcomed, and fun for the guys.

Can you ask him which actors or actresses should play various members of the team in the forthcoming: HARLEQUINS: THE MOVIE?

Could Al Pacino do a decent job as Danny Care?!

Ask him if he has any mates as good as him that he could bring along?

We recorded last night, and managed to ask all of your questions. (We did gloss over some as they were talked about in the main interview, but you should have your answers from that).

dr_miles - I couldn't bring myself to ask if anyone had approached Alex since he's been at Quins, but he did reveal which clubs contacted him before Quins.

Also, anyone want to guess which of his teammates would be played by the Hulk in the newly commissioned, and surely future award winning, Harlequins: The Movie?
