Fissler’s just tweeted:

A team is being investigated for a breach of salary cap, not hard to work out who 🤐

I cant stand Fissler constantly reporting nothing stories.  I have recently blocked him just so I don’t see his drivel and constant need for re-assurance.

In the words of Lady Bracknell, one might be a misfortune, two must be carelessness. Or it might bring to everyone’s attention how creative a team might have to be, especially with success bonuses, to get under the cap.

Ok. He isn’t talking about Quins. Don’t agree a club being investigated isn’t news.

We “breached” rather appropriately through incompetence - we weren’t investigated.

Reported in D. tel this morning and overspend and fine confirmed. Really an accounting error cannot believe JK did it deliberately but presumably part of the review and recommendation to the board that the job should be split into 2 that he did and is now in practice.

Will this "gold standard" of fining clubs be carried over to all clubs? I await larger fines being reported... ;)

I suspect it may depend on how much a club is willing to spend on legal teams to fight any allegations...

I think we need to look at our accountants, mine always asks me:

"What do you want the number to be?"

of course I am not implying or saying that there is any sort of impropriety with accountants.....

Just re read it on Rugby Pass , doesn't have a date but pertains to the 2016/2017 season  - £40, 524 over the cap fined half of that and deemed not a breach of regs  - just admin error .

But how does a bonus for winning work? If you're up to the salary cap, you can't pay any sort of bonus. If you're below the cap in the expectation of giving bonuses and it doesn't happen, then you've missed a trick when you could have recruited better.

12k could be as simple as the last month salary of a leaving player, overlapping with the 1st month of a new player..

Does the cap run Jan-Dec, Sept-Aug, or is it some sort of rolling year?
Anyone know?

Cheers PP
