Quins v Sarries October 6th
« on: Thursday 20-Sep-2018, 09:45* »
Is it really a Saturday game with an evening kick off?

GRRR!

Is it because it would clash with the game over the road?

I hate evening K.O.s Especially Saturday evening K.O.s

Yes, it's an evening Kick-off. It was originally announced as n evening k/o because it's being shown live on NBC in the USA. The fact that Northampton then moved their game to the Big Stoop is a co-incidence.

Nope, not a clash -- as above, first rugby match ever shown live on broadcast/network TV in the US.

Does that mean that the Rosebine parking won't be available?

Last comms I had with the club was that they were "working with the RFU regarding parking". Don't bank on full parking being available is my advice.

Normally when they say that it means no parking "working with" usual translates as "shafted by money-grabbing RFU"

Yep. In this case, we moved our game at PRL's request for the US TV market, and then Northampton decided to move their game, screwing up the parking situation. Why Northampton had to move that specific game, I don't know. Surely they could have picked a w/e when we're playing away.

The game v Tigers is their traditional derby match - probably biggest game they have for ticket requests.

To be fair, it is their car park!

Just bought a season pass for parking too

Hopefully they'll do Velo or something again. It's easier than sodding about with South West Railway and their crappy trains and it's a lot less stressful than trying to get anywhere near Twickenham to park when there's a game on at HQ and the Stoop

I assume they will run the Zeelo coaches again. It's a good service but expensive when you've already paid for a parking pass. I travel from the New Forest so it's quite a hike to drive to, say, Aldershot, get the coach there and back then drive home, all after an evening match. Bit of a pain really!

Best to check what time the roads will be open, seeing how they'll be shut off for the crowds for the game across the road to get back to the station etc...
