Chris Boyd has been there for a full year and this is his second. He won the Premiership cup in March after starting that season and finished in 4th beating Quins/PG by a smidgeon in his 1st full year, so we were not far off excepting our disappointing form this year (and his/Saints' cup win).

Saints bossing it with Bristol - they are not standing high above anyone and Exeter are right behind them. Both doing well though.

Ok, so 2-3 weeks was a tad exaggerated for effect, but they made huge strides under Boyd and Vesty in season 1, won a trophy (OK the little one) and have hit their straps from the start of season 2. They seem to have bought well and bedded in a load of new players, have played some exceptional rugby this season (Leinster apart) and, IMHO,  look the best by a distance in the Prem and I can only imagine how positive their supporters are looking ahead.

I'd love to be thinking that "we're not far off" but....

I agree. I just spotted a typo, now corrected: my text should have said "...we were not far off..."

But it's a 22 game Premiership season, and we're 5 games in.
