Quins Women
« on: Saturday 27-Apr-2019, 16:39* »
On tele later. 17.45 ko against Sarries in the Prem final.  We finished the season second, they came top.  Repeat of last years final when they beat us 24-20.

Some good players in the Quins side.  Heather Cowell and Jess Breach a couple of try machines out wide.  Elllie Green at 10, only 18 but top points scorer in the league this season.  Quins pack is pretty impressive also.  jade Konkel the 8 is a real handful.  Should be a good watch against a really good Sarries side.  In the league meetings, we beat them once and they beat us (That was Sarries only league defeat)

Quins tradition. Late change due to failed fitness test.  US Int Kristine Sommer replaced by Scottish Int Debbie McCormack

Game is also on Facebook, 20 - 0 to Saracens at the moment, almost half time.

Saracens are romping away in this despite having three key players out. Quins look shellshocked. If they come back from this I will be over the moon. It will be very upsetting for the girls to lose like this after last year.

Well, they made it an exciting game, but it wasn't enough. The Quins defence just wasn't good enough against Sarries ability to change the angle and point of attack. That said, if we'd made the reshuffle we did at half time earlier, they might have had a chance to win.

Shame for them.  Been watching as much as I can for the 2 years that they have been going (as Quins).  The first half was about the worst I have seen them. The try on HT was the nail in the coffin.  Quins and Sarries head and shoulders above the rest of the league.  Lots to look forward to for the women, they are a very young squad with some real talent coming through.  6 players in the England u18 squad for an upcoming game against Wales.

Interesting graphic one of the players retweeted from the club
