We've been paying for our memberships by direct debit for years.  However, this year the first payment is due out in the very near future, on 1 April.  We have decided to cancel the direct debits but hope that the corona virus situation may be clearer by the time of the renewals deadline in early June and we can decide what's best.  It may be that our finances won't stretch to renewing our memberships. 

I think it would be helpful if the Club were to offer to delay the start of the direct debit payment scheme and extend the renewals deadline.  I can't believe we are the only people having to consider if we can really afford to renew.  I know it's money already paid out, but it's a bit harsh to seek payment for the next season when we're unlikely to be able to use all of this season's membership. 

I know that there are bigger financial matters for the Club to deal with at present, but committing to pay out £750+ is a big deal for a lot of their supporters.

I know it can be a lot of money, but look at this another way... If everyone cancels, there definitely won't be a club to support after the current situation resolved itself.

Not trying to convince you one way or another, just offering another side.

I have said this elsewhere but still think it is worth restating. 

The membership payment deadlines may be important to the club financial and seat management and but to the majority of those paying they are simply arbitrary lines in the sand.  Many people are now plunged into financial uncertainty and their priorities will have changed.  The situation is both dynamic and unprecedented. 

The club must acknowledge that the situation has changed.  It should immediately suspend the current membership deadlines or communicate that they are under review and may be pushed back to a later date.  To do so would recognise that supporters/members have other issues to contend with right now.

The country, and particularly London, is about to enter an extremely difficult period.  No one would build a 4,000 bed medical facility if that were not to be the case.  In the coming days there will be uncertainty and anxiety over the number of new cases.  It is highly likely that a consequence of those new cases will be an increase in daily mortality.  In that scenario the club is not a priority, rugby is not a priority and membership payment deadlines are definitely not a priority!

Suspend the idiotic deadline.  Look at reinstating the membership application later in the summer and lets look forward to celebrating our return to the Stoop later in the year.       

I think it's fair to assume that there's no staff in the ticketing office/admin part of the club at the moment to answer the phones. It's not an essential role at this time.
