Results at the bottom

With results going as they have today how long before the Tigers' bigwigs are the ones calling for ringfencing? Getting very interesting down there.

Tigers will be ok The Falcons have been unlucky in some respects each time they win other results don’t go their way between Worc and Falcons I think

Schadenfreude to see Tigers experiencing what we did last year. As with us, it is v unlikely they will actually finish last, but I prefer to be watching it from where we are rather than where they are.

Well as per my other thread...

They’ve got Chiefs next week then go to Falcons - I wouldn’t be so sure they’re not going to be in a close fight for last.

Yeah but Falcons have Sarries away next week, then Tigers and Saints at home. I’d bet on tigers taking more points from their next three than Falcons do. Not saying I’d be upset if they didn’t, mind.

They’ll likely both get beaten next week and get nothing from the match  but the head to head is a big game and it’s on a Friday night in Newcastle - so I’m saying that’s a Falcons win. And that will mean 1 point will separate them.

Yeah. I’d expect both to lose in the next round, but form-wise, that would still be 4 straight losses from Tigers vs. 3 wins and a loss for Falcons who also have home advantage.

If they win, Falcons would have caught-up with Tigers who then play Bristol at home. Serious relegation territory.

I can see Wasps not winning another game this season and being dragged into the mix too.

looking forward to watching the Falcons v Tigers match on BT, that is assuming they show it, it's not often Leicester on TV for the wrong reasons.

Well, theoretically we're still not clear of relegation! we're only 20 points ahead of the Falcons, with 5 rounds to go (25 points on offer...).

Realistically, I'd say that anyone from Bath down is at risk. What's different this season that with 5 rounds to go, the *bottom* club has already got 6 wins. If you look back through the history of the Premiership, there's only been 3 teams relegated having won 6 games in a season (Us, Saints twice, and Falcons most recently as 2012, with Leeds avoiding the drop in '02 because Rotherham's stadium wasn't up to standard), and only once has a team that's won 7 games gone down (Bristol in '03).

This season there's been a big "levelling" of the teams from 3rd down to 12th, where any team can win on their day. Look at the table as it stands:

Based on performances this season, could you really make a case where Tigers are *that* much better than Worcester or Falcons, particularly since the start of the year? We've been fortunate that Gussy's impact has led to a good uptick in getting bonus points, not just by scoring tries but also by getting the important LBP as well.  If either Falcons or Warriors had been picking up a few LBPs earlier in the season, you'd see Tigers really bricking it in either 11th or 12th at the moment...

There's a chance Tigers could be bottom in a round or two!
Had a chat with a Tigers fan at Welford Road some seasons ago who was boasting about the size of the crowd they get.
When I asked him what sort of crowd they'd get if they stopped winning trophies he replied "that would never happen".
