Vs Rotherham

Karl Dickson ref

Twomey, Chesseman and PDJ all playing for RP.  They also had a Dave Lewis at 9, but am unsure if it was our old one.

Yes it was our old Dave Lewis. Thought it was a good game to watch.

FWIW Last week a couple of other 'old' boys where at the ground when Park played Ealing in a pre season friendly, Jordan Burns and Harry Sloan.

I thought Lewis had retired and was now working in the City or something. Are RP semi-professional?

Surprised PDJ is still playing.

I might try to get to a few of the local clubs' games this year

I think the retirement was from professional rugby. Not sure what the definition is of semi-professional but the RP players get a remuneration for training Tues/Thursday Evenings and playing Saturdays. Not a bad hourly rate I understand for some.

Yes, I did'nt realise PDJ was there until the game v Ealing last week. Came to my notice on the 1st scrum when he gave away a penalty lol. In saying that he's been covering both sides of the scrum pretty well, what was he for us LH or TH?

In Nat 1 there are only 5 on the bench so one prop and a hooker.
Therefore props have to be able to play both sides.

RP are believed to be among the better paying sides in the league - the advertising TVs on the South Circular and freinds in the city (not to mention the cost of their burgers) mean they have plenty of tin.

If you do go, try to book lunch - it is much better value that the outside catering.

Cheers for that, took me a while to figure out what was going on re subs.

For those interested there's 5 subs and a total of 10 substitutions are allowed,  so its rolling subs basically 10 times. ie a player can come off then come back on again later.

Forgot to mention earlier re ex Quins there, Jordan Turner Hall is also a coach
