SA draw with NZ in Wellington
« on: Saturday 27-Jul-2019, 10:26* »
Scrappy game, but dramatic ending. As a Bok fan, gutted that the last AB score was a penalty, given after they'd actually knocked on!
RWC will be a very open contest I think.

Good defence from SA. The All Blacks look very average

Thought the SA pressure game was good first half. Good first hit out for the books. nz are usually rusty at the start of there seasons. Injury to Retalick could be a very important. Without him they are not the team they can be with him.

Bring on RWC, should be a cracking tournament. Just seen that Japan have beaten Fiji in Suva! It was a very good fiji team too.

Fair points. It makes me laugh that NZ commentators never praise the opposition!

That would be like a Welsh/Scot heaping praise on England!

One thing we can say with confidence: what a crop of 9s the Boks have!

Just seen a clip online where they look at a close-up of the AB try. There is a point at which Barrett's foot looks like it touched the touchline. At the time I thought it was close and wondered why they didn't review it. Then I realised it's the AB's and they really do get the benefit of the doubt! It's worth looking at though - it's so close I can't see why they didn't at least review it.
