As Danny Care said, we got caught for “bloodgate” but it was in a Euro match and everyone was at it. We didn’t win the game or prosper from the actions. Saracens caught twice and that’s every game for at least four years and so far there are no bans or anybody losing their job,
There are some posters on here who have nothing to add and are deliberately silly. You know who you are. Please have a proper argument or some logic to your statements.

Stephen Jones believes this is "one of the harshest punishments in sporting history" which is proof of how profoundly ignorant he is.
no sign of Owen Slot who supports the fine and points deduction has he been silenced or sacked?

Guardian is reporting acceptance of fine and point deduction and states England players only available for x matches UNLESS their players refuse to play for England during Six Nations - well that would set the cat amongst the pigeons ... who would be REALLY missed? Farrell, Itoje, Kruis, George not sure about others?

I think Billy V would!!!

If a player did refuse a call up I cannot see EJ being too pleased.  Doubt we would see them back for a while.  TBH, I doubt it would matter, Sarries are not going down, even with -35

I would have agreed about Billy before World Cup but I am not sure he was on top form for NZ and SA?

If Sarries have decided to ful!y accept their punishment, the this leaves the door open for the RFU to charge the club for bringing the game into disrepute.
If found guilty by RFU, guess who'll step up next....ERPC!!!

It's a house of cards currently..⏳

Where are Sarries England players this weekend? Just keeping them out of sight, and away from the media?

Saracens are guilty of offences spread over the last 3 seasons, in all competitions.  Probably like many on this forum, I've been following this story, but I don't remember seeing anything telling me if / how they are now compliant.

Thinking forward to 3pm on January 25th when the ref blows for the start of the match, will I be watching a 'clean' game?

Oh the irony ! Saracens having to experience what an “uneven playing field” looks like over in Paris

Can’t believe that Ugo continues to act as an apologist for Saracens ... also can’t believe how bad his eyesight is ! It was blindingly obvious watching the first replay of Racing’s second try that Thomas was within the field of play so it was right to allow the try to stand ... mind you, bizarrely, the view down the touch line showed a “kink” in the white line ... how can that happen in an indoor stadium with a plastic pitch ?

Well that ‘s the biggest problem that as far as I am aware no one has seen exactly what they have done and nor do they plan to publish it in full so all we can do and the press is speculate. Owen Slot as far as I am aware is the only one who mentioned that allegedly there maybe image rights accounts off shore. So we won’t know if they are still in breach.

I'm really looking forward to finding that they are in breach for this season as well. Then what? Will we actually know that before the end of the season? Can't see how they can just 'turn the tap off' —of whatever it is they've been doing — to get themselves straight away within the cap.

This strategy allows Saracens to continue to claim the moral high ground ... “we did nothing wrong and would have had the decision overturned on review but the whole process would take too long and we need to get on with the season”

Nigel Wray needs to walk away now but I suspect he won’t ... where were the non-exec directors who should have said ... “are you sure what you are doing is OK ?”  ... shades of Robert Maxwell or Philip Green where one individual holds too much power within a corporate body

The South African investors walked away months ago and the media speculation was that they had asked for confirmation that Saracens were compliant with the salary cap ... they didn’t get those assurances so they bailed ... looks like a good decision now

Sadly too many careers are now “tainted” ... players & coaches ... domestic achievements for Farrell; Wigglesworth; Itoje; Vunipola (x2); Goode; George; McCall; Sanderson; etc.,  now have an asterisk against them ... if Saracens had insisted on going ahead with the review who knows if PRL would have “gone nuclear” and threatened to strip them of their titles if they lost the review

Well with regard to the past three seasons they have been found guilty by an independent panel of qualified people who spent nine months investigating the matter so even if they did publish their findings in full I would find it difficult to believe the average (or even above average) person in the street would be in any position to challenge the findings.

Obviously the Cheats and their lawyers would have had sight of it and have the opportunity to ask for a review in they wish and that's what matters.

As for this season no one knows for certain if they are cheating but based on the fact that they cheated for the last three seasons and paid a settlement fee to end the investigation of whether they cheated for a couple of years prior to this I think there are huge questions still to be answered before the Premiership can be considered clear of their corruption.

DI know this is water under the bridge and may have been raised already but the timing of the announcement so soon arter the World Cup final is it possible their was a possible leak and the players were aware ahead of the official publication this might explain the team not turning up. I aim unsure what else could have caused such a significant change in form.Antone any insight?

Well, it's possible the Saracens players knew the result was bad, but if not then they'd know a decision was coming. Like most in the premiership I'm sure even at Saracens players asked themselves "How do we keep such a huge squad of galacticos?". The players in RWC would know it was their property deal with Nigel Wray was on trial, so it all made for an unsettling time I'm sure.

That said, I think it much more likely it was just a reaction to beating New Zealand the week before.
