There’s no other word for it: we are simply rubbish.

Same story week after week after week.

Poor handling. Dropped balls. Shaky set piece. Kamikaze style discipline. Falling off tackles.

Gustard’s recruitment of 16 or so mediocre players, including has beens like Goneva.

Really really why bother watching?

We were very poor tonight, but Sale are a very good side.

Best players tonight in the backs were the youngest, Smith, Murley, Gabs.

Best players in the pack were the second row boys and Robshaw.

The rest id happily clear out and start again...

Paul Custard really needs to get a grip. Tonight made me wish Kingston was back in charge!

If clermont decide to turn up and Quins put out a scratch squad it will be a massacre that hopefully will be the end of Gustard and his cronies

Dracula vs Harlequins

Which horror story do you think I ended up watching?

Agree that Gabs, Murley and Smith were the most encouraging players for us. They frequently are. Smith, in particular, should truly be given the chance to lead the team's attacking play. He has the skill and vision.

Injuries are killing us. I hope Elia is okay. Boy, are we missing Marchant in attack and defence too. If Elia is out for a while we could be in real trouble. Was Crumpton part of the warm up squad today? I thought I saw him there.

I don’t think anyone will notice if you don’t. Feel free.

What’s wrong with the current coaching setup? To me it seems the best we’ve had in years. Motive?

Most disappointing thing for me is that I thought some our most experienced players really let us down tonight.

Marler - when the chips are down instead of manning up and knuckling down instead he behaves like a child and gets binned. No wonder Sinckler ends up in a similar frame of mind when things are going wrong if this is the example set.

Care - spent most of the game complaining instead of getting his hands dirty in the ruck and kicked away a scoring chance in their 22 when the ref had clearly said the advantage was over. De Klerk being out should have given him a chance to dominate and he failed to take it.

Ross - missed tackles, taking the ball into touch when catching. Basic stuff an FB needs to get right. He has the occasional good game but he's played well over 100 times now and just doesn't replicate that with any kind of regularity.

Robshaw - usual tireless performance but he was the captain and ultimately it felt like we were rudderless in that second half.

Add to that some of our most experienced signings look past it. Goneva failing to make a basic inside pass which would probably have lead to a try and instead they go up the other end and score. Landajo and Botta have offered very little since joining and no real threat from the bench.

In contrast Smith, Murley, Ibitoye did little wrong from what I could see. Lawday strong again until injured. Kunatani was bright when he came on.

Feels like we could be in a relegation scrap unless there's a big mental shift with some players.

Happy to see Ibitoye getting some much deserved praise, even in a terrible defeat. Hopefully that will put the naysayers down.
