Brilliant weekend, no need for me to add too much to what has been said, BUT the way Gabs ran backwards and sidewards as that attacker ran at him was very poor. Not sure you can properly see it on the tv but in real time it looked awful!!!
Are you talking about his try?!
That was great, too late, too little, totally pointless ultimately......no....it was one of the trys he ran away from stopping!
his try was truly amazing, but defensively he is a nightmare at times. i am sure whoever was on that wing would have struggled given what he was facing, but it was a very poor defensive effort in my view.
As this is a Saturday night thread and away from the overall discussion about the performance, I think it's time to thank Scott, Quinssa and le Marseillias (and other unknown, unnamed ASMers) for their work in organising tickets and everything! So many thanks to you all! Mrs BQ and I had a great time despite being seriously under the weather, which meant a self imposed limitation on interaction to prevent spreading the dreaded lurgy! Highlights away from the match itself were for us My Uncle's Bar (Chez mon once) and a surreal prematch experience in the captain's (Parra's cousin!) oyster bar! Did anyone else end up there, or did we imagine it?
Massive thank you to all the ASM fans and Clermont people in general. They could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. Post match under the Auvergne stand was mental (or was it somewhere else).
Echoing the thanks above to the ASM fans, they were incredibly hospitable, and also good fun.
A special thanks must also be extended to all those Quins fans in Café Pascal, who made our friend Ben's birthday one to remember (even if it is only in picture form due to a fairly hazy memory of the night). A great night was had by all.
Having watched the game again, sadly their second try ALSO highlighted some very strange defending from Gabs.....having watched 1000s of games, most players (my son included!) would have been drawn to the attacker like a very strong magnet.....really not sure was going through Gabs mind at that point!!!??

Was a great trip and echo everyone comments and performance of the weekend was Ben drinking all of those shots :D
Loved the welcome in all of the bars the ground, Hope we can give the visiting Clermont fans a similar welcome when they visit us
Great time in Cafe Pascal basically didn’t leave it all weekend apart from the game.
Personal fave was the songs on the Friday and Ben struggling with each and every pint all weekend.
Yes thank you for organising was a great away weekend and same here highlight of Cafe Pascal
Indeed, the bars under the Auvergne Stand post match were crazy. Lots of swopping of - hats, scarves, shirts, which hopefully will all be seen at the return fixture. After a couple of hours there, called in at the marquee bar outside the ground for more of the same. Incredible. Great ground, great people.
