Worcester did something similar when we thrashed them 60-14 in April 2009.

No we shouldn't .

Bath made wholesale changes , some caused by injury and apart from Chris Cooks intercept try they didn't get a sniff until Sarries had already wrapped up 5 points .
We have momentum with our first XV squad and they all know there will be no shame in losing to Sarries if we put in a good shift
More importantly the A team boys are doing really well in the Prem Shield and so no point setting them up as cannon fodder - that will only dent their confidence

Play the best  23 we can , front up and make them earn a victory , and if we can stay with them till the last quarter - you never know !

Definite No from me. We've won our last three home games against Sarries. The Stoop has a hoodoo over Sarries. Our team are beginning to find some cohesion and improvement in their new systems, so we should put out our best side.

Actually it sounds like it would be a moral victory to restrict them to just 4 points from the game! :)

Yes DOK , if we can restrict them to 4 and get a LBP , that will be a good night -- if we can nick the points it will just be a Sunday morning right off !

Definite NO from me and I don’t think the players would want it either. Apart from the fact it is being shown on US tv. We are underdogs every year and have beaten them at the Stoop regularly

We're playing our A team against them tonight. Resting players for an away game is one thing, but shouldn't do it for a home game. Also, we haven't got Heineken cup round the corner

No, we shouldn't be resting anyone for the league game. A few bodies should hopefully get time off against Agen the week after though.

Aha!

I can't believe this is even being suggested and hope it caused a lot of negative friction at Bath. Players want to test themselves against the best - simple!

No. Anyone carrying a knock should be rested unless vital to the team though. Sarries have broken enough of ours in the past....

If we play a weakened side against Agen how is that fair to the others? We should always play our strongest available team in everything except maybe the new cup competition which is replacing the Anglo Welsh and therefore is viewed as a player development competition.

That's how I'd like it to be... But the nature of the modern rugby calendar and the workloads on the players mean that this is just not going to happen these days. The reason I'd say play the weaker team against Agen is because they're weaker than Sarries. If we have to rest players, rest them against weaker opposition. I don't agree with what Bath did but I can 100% see why they did it.

I sort of agree.  However, I would really like to get into the situation where we are rotating more.
Eg. This weeks front row become bench warmers for next week.  Ditto with scrum half and fly half. And, use different combinations of wings.  I think that we have 5 good wingers (including Chis) at the moment (although one is inexperienced).  Selecting any 2 of them for a game would not necessarily constitute a "weakened" team.
