I would not be surprised if those who have knee trouble are not rested due to the surface in Newcastle.  I would suspect Symonds and Lewies will be given a break and I would not be starting Earl there either.  A complete rotation I can't see happening, freshen up the team was the phrase used not rip it apart

Our squad isn’t good enough to make wholesale changes, Gustards hokey kokey selection policy is proof in the pudding.

I’d probably bring some of the bench players into the fold, but seeing a 9/10 of Landajo and Herron scares me. Landajo as second strings go is poor. I’d certainly bring in Louw to start, maybe Tizard for more experience, James Chisholm for Dombrandt, Herron for Smith to give him a rest, and perhaps Northmore for Marchant..but nothing more

I would have liked us to rest Dombrant but given Evans is out I wouldn't want to make too many changes so Chisholm in for Evans. Marler could drop to the bench as he's played a lot of minutes but the rest of the front row look fresh. We could play young and put one of Symonds/Lewis on the bench. I really wouldn't want to make too many changes in the backs. If we can get  a win at Newcastle it puts us in a great position but I have a feeling this might be where our good run comes to an end unfortunately.

I very much doubt you'd change that team much. The boys have had a few breaks due to Covid and European rugby. If we want to challenge for Top4 we have to win again this wkd in my opinion. Need to keep momentum up as that's when we get confidence to play ball.

I do agree about the surface and knee issues though (still can't believe these pitches are allowed!)

I think Marler has been amazing for us the last 4 weeks (Sorry England!) - however, he has played 70 odd mins each game almost....might need a bench spot.

Evans is the problem - not sure what you do about that apart from get the Oxygen tent out for him. I just hope his departure from the back row doesn't harm us as much as Willis absence seems to harm Wasps.

Marler still looks like the best loosehead in England, Mako notwithstanding, and also looks like he is just enjoying his rugby. I'm sure he and the team will make the right decision as regards his involvement over the next few games. What will be interesting is whether Gatland is prepared to consider him for the Lions on the basis of club form - and whether he would want to go.

He has been a revelation for us, a great signing by Gustard, fair play. Glad we have got Chisholm back but he's a 6/8 rather than a 7 and don't see White as a 7 either so we when Evans is out we really miss what he brings to the side.

Let's see what de Carpentier can do. As a 7s player we know that he should be quick and good at the breakdown - though whether he is up to the full physicality of 15s is another question. However, I think he is probably our best bet to replace Evans in that role.

It's a measure of how well the Evans/Dombrandt/White combo has gone that we're not really missing Robshaw in this last run of games. As ever with Quins, the question is whether we can find a good backup...

What we need is the "two Evans" like we used to have the "two Robshaws." Then we could rotate them.

I cant imagine Marler wanting to go - it would likely mean more quarantine and bubble-immersion, which he has suggested he is not interested in: family man.

Our back row options are currently the weakest - what has happened to Lawday? Perhaps Lamb will have to fill in.

Back row, along with FH, has to be the focus of new recruitment, but I suspect that the club know this!

If the Scotland game is called off maybe we will get lanfg and Steele back so they can be released for when it is rearranged for ?

Agree. We need to maintain balance in the back row. Whilst Chisholm, Lawday and even Dombrandt could all "do a job" at openside, I don't see why de Carpentier won't be given a shot to prove himself.

Newcastle are 5 points behind us. Hardly easy-beats. A bit of rotation, I doubt we're gonna throw out the kids.

I think we’ll see Young and Els coming into the starting line up for Marler and Symons. For a backline I’d like to see

Not sure id risk Brown and his knee on their artificial surface but then again, if he’s signed for them I guess he’s comfortable in playing.
