Super Rugby Crowds vs Others

Crowd Stats Info

I was looking for the crowd figure for the Auckland Blues vs Crusaders this weekend, and came across this report on the web. Interesting because it makes direct comparisons between Super Rugby, The Premiership, Top 14 and Pro 14. It does of course focus on New Zealand, but there's some interesting nuggets in there.

I waded through all that and found this little gem..

"...Rugby is in good health in the northern hemisphere. Their competition might not have the same excitement and talent as Super Rugby, in New Zealand at least, but crowds are excited nonetheless..."

Discuss.

From watching Super Rugby, there are some very poor sides in there.  Defence, at times seems  optional and the refs do not seem to care too much about things like forward passes etc.

For me it is back to the old argument of a running game versus a game involving all 15 players.

77 points at The Stoop last Saturday dominated by running backs. How many of us are happy with that?
