While we need to give the team some credit for the losing BPs, we’re lucky they exist as they’re the main reason we’re in mid table. Without sounding pessimistic, losing BPs are about the best we can expect for the next couple of rounds away at Gloucester and against Saracens.
We’re also lucky that other teams who have probably played better than us so far have been less successful at picking up the BPs (namely Saints and Newcastle).
I’m realistic enough to accept that it will take time for Gustard to properly influence the squad, but I can’t help but be dismayed by our ability to self-destruct at every opportunity by screwing up the basics or giving away dumb penalties.
