Tannoy
« on: Sunday 27-Jan-2019, 17:44* »
Just a couple of recurring grumpinesses:

When Bothma was sent of the tannoy didn’t even crackle. From my side of the pitch we’d no idea who had been sent off or why - if it had been oppo' we'd have been told. As in earlier games, it’s almost as though the tannoy is in denial. But we’re grown up enough to hear bad news rather than pretend it didn’t happen.

It’s been covered before, but ‘game changer’ is a nonsense and we’re rightly mocked by opposition fans. Yesterday the tannoy announced Lambert coming back onto the pitch at the same time as a ‘game changer’. Asked how Lambert might feel about not being a game-changer, we said he was a game improver!

Meh. We're 3rd in the league. Call them whatever you want.

Do they normally announce who's been given a red or yellow card at the ground?

I cant believe people get so bothered by what the "Subs" are called.  If we are winning and doing well I could not give a monkies (Couldnt care even if we were losing tbh)

Sadly the “so long, farewell” is no longer played when a visiting player receives a yellow/red card

Call them what they want, who cares.

And I've never heard anyone announce who's been carded for any offence.
