HARLEQUINS NAME TEAM TO PLAY NORTHAMPTON SAINTS (H)
Friday, 12th April 2019 @ 12:00

SAM HIDALGO-CLYNE GETS HIS FIRST START FOR THE CLUB AS QUINS HOST NORTHAMPTON SAINTS FOR THEIR GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP ROUND 19 MATCH AT THE STOOP ON SATURDAY (KICK OFF 15:00).

Scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne makes his first start for Harlequins ahead of Danny Care who is ruled out through injury. The Scotland international made his debut for the side in the defeat to Sale Sharks last week, having joined Quins in March on a short-term loan deal from Scarlets that will last until the end of the season.

There is one other change in the starting backline that travelled to the AJ Bell last week, with Marcus Smith replacing Demetri Catrakilis at fly-half.

In the pack, front row Nick Auterac starts at loosehead with Lewis Boyce named on the bench.

Amongst the Game Changers for tomorrow, Semi Kunatani provides cover for the back row, with the versatile James Lang drafted back in whom like Kunatani showed up strongly on Monday night.

Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “We’ve got a fantastic contest in store for us against Northampton and, as a group, we’re really looking forward to getting back in front of a full house at The Stoop after three consecutive away matches. It’s a massive game and we implore our fans to be our 16th man this weekend.

“We’re in a great position in the league and we’ve worked exceptionally hard all week to make sure we give a consistent and disciplined performance.

“Our destiny is in our hands and I’m confident that the team will rise to the challenge on Saturday.”

SHC is a pretty good replacement though.  Glad to see Auterac kept his place.

No Marler, Collier, Care and Marchant is far from ideal. Really need them back asap.

Everyone needs to play well and Sinckler needs to make amends.

Not that confident about tomorrow but we shall see.

And the season is nearly over and Visser and Walker still haven't bothered working their way into contention. Something somewhere has gone horribly wrong with those two (yes I know Visser had an injury in there but he wasn't making it before and hasn't made it now he's back).

No Care is the one for me. He's made most of our chances this season.

To be fair to Visser, has he been back fit that long???  Could be that his injury was part of his issue before he had his op??  (I don't know this, just thinking out load)

Very happy with the team. Come on boys, get your heads screwed on and keep focused!!!
Should be quite a high scoring game!

Auterac did well on Friday, looked steady with ball in hand. Hidalgo-Clyne also looked good, zippy passing and busy; a good replacement for our beloved DC!

Elsewhere, I hope Alofa gets a chance to run on Saturday. The back three is great, as is the back row. And hooray for the return of Marcus, my boys love him so much! As do I!!!!!

For me, much more important than who is actually playing is this soundbite:

“We’re in a great position in the league and we’ve worked exceptionally hard all week to make sure we give a consistent and disciplined performance.

If that actually comes to fruition then I'm confident the guys named will do the job. If not, then just like last week, we'll hand Saints the game.

TBH, I would expect that every week.  Glad to see Semi on the bench also.  I like him.  Not sure he will be staying next season but a decent player

I don think Visser or Walker have been given a fare chance by Gustard don’t think you can blame them

Visser has been injured and only got back to A league recently. Walker has barely played but there certainly seems to be something that PG just doesn't rate.

I'm not sure about tomorrow. I'm travelling more in hope than expectation. If we play like we did earlier in the season we could win. If we play with the mindless indiscipline that we've been showing recently, then as said above, we will hand Saints the game.

To be fair to PG, he has shown that if you put the work in, you get your chance (Murley).  I can only presume that Walker has not been up to the level required to warrant a chance.  That's is probably down to him more than Gustard being unfair

Anyone know the extent of Marler's injury? And is DC's injury the same as previously (ribs I think)?

We look strong in the backs, but we do seem to be getting through our stock of forwards.

I hope this match is being shown live. I think we need a very fast start, followed up by sustained pressure and focus. We really can't afford to lapse like we did last week.
