Visser has been injured and only got back to A league recently. Walker has barely played but there certainly seems to be something that PG just doesn't rate.

As a fan of Walker at his best, I'm sad to say that he doesn't appear to fit into Gussy's plans. My feeling is that it's most likely down to attitude, and not performance as we haven't seen much of him. It's a shame, but I trust in PG.

Visser was most likely carrying an injury - maybe they weren't playing him as they were trying to get him back without surgery? I'm glad he's back though, he's a very good player and the more competition for places, the better.

In terms of forwards, I'd say 7 of the pack are current preferred starters, with only Marler missing. On the bench, it would be good to have Buchanan, Collier and Chis back, and arguably Twomey. I don't think we're in terrible shape, though Marler is a big loss.

Fair point. I was thinking more of the overall squad - although we do have much greater quality in our replacements than in previous seasons.

I guess it's another dodgy internet feed then...

Anyone know the extent of Marler's injury? And is DC's injury the same as previously (ribs I think)?

We look strong in the backs, but we do seem to be getting through our stock of forwards.

I hope this match is being shown live. I think we need a very fast start, followed up by sustained pressure and focus. We really can't afford to lapse like we did last week.

I may be wrong but I think I remember Over hearing one of the players mentioning Marler may be around 6-8 weeks. I honestly can’t remneber the details sorry!

Twomey left at the end of last season. He came back as a guest in an A-league game recently but he's not ours any more...

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I've used vipbox.tv for a while but just lately it's getting difficult to find a decent feed.

Oh dear, that sounds bad... Fingers crossed he's back and firing on all cylinders soon.

I don think Visser or Walker have been given a fare chance by Gustard don’t think you can blame them
It is the nature of competitive sport that you have to earn your chance, not be given it.

To be fair to Visser, has he been back fit that long???  Could be that his injury was part of his issue before he had his op??  (I don't know this, just thinking out load)

Listen I really like him, but he's been back for at least 3/4 weeks.

Discipline as always vital in close matches , interesting to hear Nick Evans say that the players had taken over a meeting room ( without coaches)and had a heart to heart about discipline , and discussed how the actions of some were letting the team down .
Hopefully that will show some benefits , but who knows when the mist descends ...

Visser wasn’t being picked before his injury either

Do we know when the injury occurred? It's possible that the injury was being managed for some time before surgery, which is usually a last resort.
