Harlequins announce squad to play Exeter Chiefs (h)

Sinckler returns to the front two as Ibitoye starts on the wing.
Kyle Sinckler returns to the Harlequins starting XV following his man-of-the-match performance for England against Australia last weekend. The Tighthead prop re-joins the Quins front row alongside Joe Marler and Dave Ward for Friday night’s fixture against Exeter at The Stoop (kick-off: 19:45).

The rest of the forwards remain unchanged from the side that lined up against Worcester last week with James Chisholm again leading the side at number 8.

Gabriel Ibitoye makes a welcome return from injury on the wing in a back line which sees Danny Care and James Lang start as half-backs and Francis Saili at Inside centre.

Harlequins Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “Our last match at The Stoop was on a Friday under lights against Newcastle Falcons when we recorded a thoroughly deserving victory that took us to fifth in the Gallagher Premiership.

“We are now in a congested mid league position gaining at least one point from every fixture we have played in as we continue to develop strong foundations on which to build our Club.

“We were frustrated last week at Worcester where we dominated possession and territory but failed to maximise the opportunities of the nine clean breaks we made against a well organised defence.

“We have devoted a lot of time to our attack framework this week and continue to commit as much time to our attack as we do defence to maintain the strong tradition we have with attacking rugby which is the soul of the Club.

“Now we look forward to the visit of the league leaders. I have huge respect for Rob Baxter and his Exeter team present a very strong challenge. It is one we relish as a squad.”

Ward starting as hooker is my only worry with the selection. Its going to be a tough evening.   And that's just for the Quins fans.

It’s a strong team with some interesting selections. That back line could be very dangerous if and it’s a big if our scrum can give us some front foot ball. Glad to see the sinc back I thought he might have been rested but if he can bring his international form with him he will be a big bonus. Still no Horwell is a worry. Glad to see Ibatoye back again I just hope we can give him the ball in a bit of space. I’ll be there cheering the team on let’s hope the atmosphere is better than against the Falcons. COYQ

I am quite happy with that front row. Wardy brings so much across the park and will give his all for the Quins as always. He may not be the most consistent thrower, but his work over the ball and running lines is top class for me. Go Wardy! Good to see Saili starting at 12.

A big test for James Lang and the whole squad. Let's get behind the boys tomorrow night. COYQ!!

I don’t think so just third choice behind Lang and Smith

Surely in that case he wouldn't be on the "not considered for selection" list?

Not sure about that; he's listed as not considered for selection.

He might well be injured but still think he’s third choice. Going on his performances he certainly should be

I don't thing he's going to come back. Was pulled at short notice last week -- can't see him back, total guess but feels like it's a retirement job. Let's see.
