Also enjoyed Els’ cameo. Great steal followed by a good break and seemed fine on the scrums. He’s had good moments whenever I’ve seen him play, we just haven’t seen enough of him. If he’s fit, he could be a good new asset.
The wind certainly seemed to pick up between the warm-up and the kick-off, affecting all the kickers during the game. What was interesting to me was that Marcus was practising Spiral Bomb kicks a lot during the warm-up. I know the cognoscenti in the media have been bigging up Ford's use of this style of kick as a part of how Tigers are bossing things at the moment. It could be that either Snap or Marcus has thought it's worth trying to add that to our arsenal.
That was my second visit to Kingsholm (first as an opposition supporter). Will definitely head there next season, particularly as it's an easier trip than the Stoop! Mind you, I think we have far greater options in terms on food and drink inside the Stoop than they do at Castle Grim. Also, if/when the Stadium redevelopment happens at The Stoop, I hope to god they incorporate the curve that we currently have in the East Stand! I was in Block Q in the main South (Malvern Tyres) stand and it was almost impossible to see what was happening in the corner where Danny scored his try, because of all the people along the rows in the way. The regular Gloucs supporters I was sat next to said that when play gets in that area of the pitch, they just watch it on the screen above the Shed. I much prefer having the curved stand we currently have as it means a lot more people can watch the action directly, rather than having to rely on the screens.
Haven’t seen the lineout stats for yesterday’s game, but it looked much better and I don’t recall losing any? There was one mistimed throw that went though Lamb’s hands, but we won that at the tail anyway.
I thought so too. Late in the game, Dayglo was spouting off that "The lineout hasn't been working well for Quins" and I thought hang on a sec, we haven't lost one yet
It was interesting that we had Tiz, Symons and Kenningham jumping. I wonder who was calling them? It's possible that Tiz is actually a better lineout runner than Lewies - which might change the equation of what Quins should do to try to keep him.
It's also increasingly noticeable how much Kenningham is filling Robshaw's boots - Robbo use to take a lot of crunch lineouts, especially when the darts weren't going well, and Kenningham is now doing the same on a regular basis
Was also in Block Q, sadly a huge metal post in the way.
Think castle grim needs a little more work on it ;D
Good day out, the Glouc fans certainly have a loud voice/bray.
Well done Quins! COYQ!
One or two posters (one in particular, who also thought 36 had the better of him yesterday) on Shed Web seem to bear grudge against Ester for previous red card he had there. But most were complementary about him and wish they had an equivalent.
That particular poster really doesn't like Quins (to be fair, they probably really don't like anyone else, but I only tend to read there when we're playing them).
I don't think that bearing a grudge against Esterhuizen for the red card last season is unreasonable though - it was a really cheap shot. Members of this board still blame Saracens for ending Lowe's career, though the player that did it is long gone.

Agree. Id love him to stay fit and get a run. I think he could turn out a very good back up to Marler

You are likely to get your wish sooner or later. I imagine that Botta won’t be retained once his contract is up, for all that he’s now playing well. Botta is not much younger than Marler and probably on a decent salary. I could see Quins slimming down the prop roster to Joe, Els and Baxter.

Why would anyone want slim props?
I wonder if we may see props covering both sides gong forward. Less in the squad. Already Baxter is playing TH and LH, Kerrod covered LH this season.
Also in block Q yep posts a pain, most of the Glos supporters great, one silly old sod who when they scored proudly stuck his fingers up at our group
Still you always get a few at every ground
Trains home an absolute nightmare with cancellations galore
But even with all that a great trip, and thought we wrestled the win and it really could have gone either way
Think this coming Saturday will be (another) massive test
