Team vs Newcastle

HARLEQUINS’ COACHING GROUP HAVE NAMED THE TEAM TO FACE NEWCASTLE FALCONS IN THE FINAL MATCH AT THE STOOP THIS SEASON

Five players retain their spots in the starting side that travelled to Sale Sharks last time, with eight Harlequins Academy products named in the starting side for the final home game of the season, with a total of 12 pathway players named in the 23.

Club Captain Stephan Lewies misses out on selection this week due to injury, with Dino Lamb stepping to start in the five jersey, with Academy player Hugh Tizard taking up a role on the bench.

Amongst the Impact Players, back row James Chisholm and wing Cadan Murley return from spells on the side lines for inclusion in the match day 23.

Speaking, General Manager Billy Millard said: “It’s been a great week preparing to finish on a high at The Stoop this season. The players are excited to be able to play in front of home fans again this week.

“This weekend also offers us the opportunity to say goodbye to some departing players one last time on home soil. We’ll say goodbye to some people that are good friends and great players, and we’re looking forward to sending them off in style with a win.

“Newcastle are a tough side with real determination. We have a form sheet to balance this week after falling short of the Newcastle challenge at Kingston Park earlier this season. But we’ve had a good week of prep and we’re ready to take the game to Newcastle this weekend.”

Great to see both Murley and Chisholm return to the bench. Shame Lewies is injured.

Think that’s the starting back line for next week with the players available. Frustrating Lewies is injured, hopefully it’s a case of making sure he’s fit for the semi final next week.

Great news Chisholm is back for this week. His physicality will be incredibly important for the semis

Best team to put out in the circumstances and glad we did not go for any more rest periods.

Like the backline, some good speed and muscle.

That's a squad that could give Bristol or Exeter a good game in the semi final. Fingers crossed everyone stays fit and we get Lewies back for next week.

Astonishing to think that Murley has already played 46 games for us and Green has hit 20.

Strange to have no specialist 10 cover. The result doesn't matter, but I'd hope that next week we see Lang on the bench.

Good team though. Great to see Chisholm back. Hope he can stay fit for the semi. Be good to get lewies back too.

It's slightly odd how young has disappeared from match day squads. I know he's leaving, but he's looked decent when he's played this season and is currently a better option than lamb, imo

Taps is the backup 10 I assume (he's played there before).

Though Green maybe also

Just looking on Instagram and Lang's shoulder is very heavily strapped, so I guess letting him rest it. Would be amazed if we don't have specialist cover next week

I like the look of Edwards, glad he is staying.  He has the OLH step....but it works.  Not sure how good his kicking is, but if its ok he could be quite a useful signing

Just a comment on the oppo, i think Radwan is the one to watch. He's been very impressive of late and deserves is training squad spot for England.

Was it Radwan who was also an international level sprinter before turning to rugby?

That sounds like a "Matt Hopper can play 10" Chinese whisper. He's fast but I would strongly suspect he's never been an international level sprinter, unless it's something like representing England counties aged 12 or something!

Surprised that Steele isn't on the bench instead of Landajo.
