That would be completely out of character for Brown. When fit, he wants to play.

Could England rest periods come into the equation in terms of the number of games he can play?

Players in the England squad do have to miss a certain number of games in each block as part of the agreement between the RFU & PRL

It must mean injured.  Visser played in the week for the A side, he is not mentioned in the list.  If it was a list including "dropped" players, surely he would be there (as would Ward)

I tend to agree honkytonk ,but  in that case why not say ' not available for selection' and even give the explanation as Saints have done for their injured players . - that removes a lot of speculation .

I see this more as rotations than drops. Can't believe we would have picked up all those new injuries. With strength in certain positions (back row/back three), we can afford to be preventative. We have a run of quite a few games we could/should win if we want to see improvement (Saints, Bath, Bristol, Gloucester) and I suspect we'd have seen a vastly different team if it were Sarries away this week followed by, say, Bristol at home.

But it's refreshing to see us detailing info like this in some form.

I don't think there's too many new injuries there. 9-10 of those named did'nt appear in any pre season games. I think it just looks a bit daunting when it's just laid out bare for the first time

It’s a bit weird

So is Ward just rubbish and therefore not considered - or injured?

Are Brown and Visser now injured?

Help us Gustard - we’re lost

I like these early season selections a lot already. Feels more like Guzzie has a plan game by game. Selecting players to execute a game plan against different teams, each of which presents a a completely different challenge in terms of strengths to nullify and weaknesses to take advantage of. Still seems to be keeping consistency in some key combinations too. This is what I would expect a decent selector/coach to do.

Im still going that is a list off injured players.  If not, why are Ward, Visser, Semi, Auterac not mentioned??

Just because it says not considered, same as we now say game changers, I'm pretty sure that just means injured or mandatory rest for the England players.

Alopha, cheeseman sweil etc et al. It only makes sense as a list for injuries (or rested)

Agreed.  We had a very good back line out on Monday and none of those mentioned.

I hope that some of the "not considered" are just rested. Brown and Wallace didn't look to have any problems last weekend, possible knocks in training. But I rather like the theory that it could be rotation, that would make sense.

It could make sense if Brown played last week to nullify the Solomona threat.  Different oppo this week so different side??  Morris deserved to keep his place.

Think Ward offers more than crumpton on the bench personally, but then again he was fine last week.

Shame about Brown being injured.

Pleased to see Chisholm start. I know I'm in a minority, and I've only watched the highlights back, not the full match, but I didn't think Bothma was that great really. Not bad, but I didn't see the performance that quite a few were raving about.

I agree with you. He was lucky not to get binned early on, dropped some ball, and didn't do as much during his time on the pitch as Chis did off the bench.

Could this be the start of a player rotation system being implemented. If we have enough fit players it would make sense but as there is no injury list it's hard to tell . Not available for selection could include rested players . To be on no lists must mean not good enough.
