The creeping lack of respect in rugby
« on: Saturday 20-Oct-2018, 17:31* »
and why Nigel Owens is calling it out

Quote
Nigel Owens]
Over the weekend Mike Brown scored what seemed at first to be a try in Harlequins Challenge Cup win over Agen.

Referee Ian Davies had blown to award the try, only for the full-back to tell the official that he had lost the ball while reaching out for the line.

Some cynics will say that Mike Brown only admitted that because he was going to get found out.

To that I would say give credit when it’s due. Also, the match was not on tv, so there was no TMO so there was no way he would have been found out. And even if there was a TMO there may not have been a camera angle to show he had knocked it on.

That is someone doing something in the spirit of the game, and Mike Brown should be acknowledged for doing that.
